We are happy to announce this year's Ethiopian Heritage Camp to be held July 24-27 at Mission Springs Camp and Conference Center, near Santa Cruz California. Join with other families touched by Ethiopian adoption as we explore the richness of the Horn of Africa. Expect to make lifelong friends and meet amazing individuals as we explore the diversity of Ethiopian culture. This year's program will include presentations on Ethiopian history and culture, a talk by one of the Lost Boys of the Sudan with a special viewing of "God Grew Tired of Us", a panel discussion with youth and adult Ethiopian adoptees, dance instruction, Ethiopian children's games and songs, cooking lessons, movies from the region and more, culminating in an Ethiopian banquet and party. Interspersed with organized activities find time to enjoy Ethiopian coffee ceremonies, browse the camp book store and Merkato, swim in the large heated pool, play a pick up game of basketball or soccer, or just relax with friends. Childcare is provided for times adult oriented presentations are underway.

Group photoFor the 4th consecutive year our camp will find its home among the towering redwoods of coastal California. African Cradle will have exclusive use of the Mission Springs facilities, including its spacious lawn, playgrounds and meeting rooms. All meals are included. You can take a virtual tour of the facilities, grounds and accommodation options at www.missionsprings.com. There are 4 levels of accommodations available that range from rustic cabins with bunk beds and shared baths to hotel-room like comfort. Room size is varied and can accommodate up to 7 people. Cribs are available. We strive to keep camp as affordable as possible and provide a range of accommodation levels to meat many budget needs. The average family of four may attend for $1600.00 including 3 nights select accommodation, all meals and all program expenses. Families attending come in all sizes including single adult adoptees, prospective parents waiting for their referrals, and families with children spanning infancy through college aged. Feel free to bring along grandparents and friends. Typically about 200 people attend.

kidsWe hope to see you in July. We must receive at least 20 preregistration commitments by April 1 to assure camp will continue. All fees and full registration packets must be received by May 30.
